Lancome High Resolution Night Refill-3x Anti-Wrinkle: Does it Work?

Overview:
High Resolution is Lancôme’s most powerful wrinkle-fighting collection. Our breakthrough Refill-3X™ complex helps boost the synthesis of the three natural skin fillers – collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Collagen synthesis is stimulated; elastin fibers are renewed and protected, and the production of hyaluronic acid – a highly potent moisturizer – is accelerated. Lines and wrinkles appear pushed up and out, as though refilled from within. Skin recaptures its youthful beauty.

What it is Formulated to Do?
Lancôme High Résolution Night Refill-3x features the Refill-3X complex, which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles for visibly renewed smoothness. Like any anti-wrinkle cream, this is not the equivalent to a permanent wrinkle filler. Upon waking, this staple formula leaves skin smoother, refreshed, and hydrated.

Conclusion
In some small ways, this emollient moisturizer for dry skin is a cut above what Lancome typically offers, but that doesn’t say much because generally Lancome make some of the most disappointing moisturizers and “antiwrinkle” creams available. The notion that this product has anything to do with the effects of a dermal filler or that it contains ingredients that stimulate the production of skin’s supportive elements (they probably want you to think of collagen and elastin) is a joke. It won’t do that any more than will the thousands of other creams on the market. This actually contains more coloring agents than state-of-the-art ingredients, which is really depressing when you weigh the cost of this moisturizer against its limited benefits.

Lancome refers to anisic acid helping to “complete the nightly cellular renewal process.” Not only is there no research to support this statement, but it also ignores the fact that lots of ingredients can help skin do that, either by exfoliation (think AHA or BHA) or with antioxidants and cell-communicating ingredients, which skin needs both night and day; it doesn’t go into overdrive at night and slow down in the morning. Despite fancy jar packaging and lofty claims, this is nothing more than a moisturizer. Those looking for skin care with anti-aging benefits should know that Lancome’s offerings consistently come up short.
